Joe Caruso joined the Albertus Magnus Department of Athletics as the head women's lacrosse coach in the Fall of 2013. In his third year at the helm of the program, Caruso guided the Falcons to a non-conference victory against Bay Path. The triumph was the first outside of New Haven in school history for Albertus Magnus. During the season, the Falcons scored seven or more goals in a game four times, including twice in conference play. In 2015, the young Falcons' program went 1-14 with a victory over Bay Path College on March 16. He led the Falcons in their first-ever varsity season in 2014 as the Falcons recorded two wins in their first season. On April 13, the Falcons defeated Anna Maria College 19-10 in New Haven for their first varsity win in program history. Prior to Albertus, Caruso served as an assistant women's lacrosse coach at the nearby University of New Haven. He was also the head girls' lacrosse coach at Joel Barlow High School in Redding, CT. until 2010. At Joel Barlow, he also coached freshmen girls' basketball and junior varsity field hockey. He has been an avid coach for Redding-Easton Lacrosse (RE-LAX), a player development group, while he also worked at the World Class Lacrosse Camps at Wesleyan University and the Nike Field Hockey Camp at Fairfield University. In addition, he coached at the under-15 girls' level in the Connecticut Nutmeg State Games from 2004 until 2010.
